We at StonewallAGAIN are humble to have two awesome and different founders amid our family. We have our very own founder, Mike Lackovich and our own Bisexual liaison, Br. Michael C. Oboza (ret) whom happens to be founder of Bisexual Queer Alliance Chicago. They both have different life experiences, yet, truly find time to give back or pay it forward in our LGBT community. Because "that is what we do."
During January 2014, Oboza invited Lackovich to share a first day of their Founder tour sharing time, education, outreach, and resourses to other mainstream communities. The first day was at Pride Alliance, a welcoming Student organization for LGBTQ students and all at College of DuPage. Oboza shared how difficult it was having to chose to be gay or straight, then after a suicide attempt, Oboza turned his life around and finally came out bisexual to himself first and foremost, "because being honest with my own definition helps me understand myself." Oboza continued, "Without you there is no you." He later became the founder of Bisexual Queer Alliance Chicago. And Lackovich shared about how he had "to fit in to live a heterosexual life that wasn't really for me." Lackovich found a strength inside himself to "later in life finally find a man I love and loves me." He later became our hero and founder of our family here at StonewallAGAIN.
We wish them well as they continue their Founder's tour 2014.
